There are many reasons for vegetarianism, so many organizations are asking people to think about the future of their nutrition.
For themselves
Cessation of eating meat you will reduce your risk of getting heart disease, drops, cancer and other chronic diseases that disable and kill over three million people a year, which is documented and confirmed by hundreds of studies. It also will guarantee that your energy level up, simplify the preparation of meals and reduce the bill for food, not to mention a cleaner conscience.
For their children
Ejection of meat will help protect soil, water and other sources of food production that are important to the survival of your children and their children.
For natural resources and hunger in the world
By ejectment of the meat you will allow the wheat and other crops that are now fattened billion animal nutrition and rescue hungry people in the world. Meat diet is very extravagant and eating meat means supporting the hunger in the world and unequal distribution of food. In addition, there is much additional consumption of fossil fuels, electricity, drinking water and so on.
For air
Ammonia gas that comes from the barn where the cattle keep the CO2 emissions caused by the breeding of animals causes more harm than all the cars and factories in the world together. Global warming is directly linked to diet.
For water
The amount of water for ten cuts equal to the amount of water consumed by the average family in the whole year. Only in the U.S. meat industry is polluting the water as all industries and all the towns together. About 50% of water pollution in Europe caused a massive animal husbandry.
For Forest
Since 1970. more than 20 million hectares of tropical forests has been converted into pastures. Ruthlessly killing and destruction of forests threatens many animal and plant species, but also local residents. Already one third of the Earth's surface is used for animal husbandry.
For Animals
With ejecting the meat you will save innocent, sentient beings from their confinement, isolation, lack of rights, poisoning, mutilation, torture and slaughter. Animals have the right to life, and is currently being billions of lives in the terrible suffering of the farms around the world. Isolated and imprisoned awaiting their turn to the slaughter. And kill them because consumers who buy meat and meat products. Stand it on end, prevent suffering and slaughter of animals - become a vegetarian.
ABOUT VEGETARIAN TIMES
The love for all living creatures is the most noble attribute of man.
—Charles Darwin, English naturalist (1809–1882)
Wild animals never kill for sport. Man is the only one to whom the torture and death of his fellow creatures is amusing in itself.
—James A. Froude, English historian (1818–1894)
If you visit the killing floor of a slaughterhouse, it will brand your soul for life.
—Howard Lyman, author of Mad Cowboy
A man can live and be healthy without killing animals for food; therefore, if he eats meat, he participates in taking animal life merely for the sake of his appetite. And to act so is immoral.
—Leo Tolstoy, Russian novelist (1828–1910)

Meat has a disastrous impact on climate
Meat production is the culprit for the emission of greenhouse gases by 18 percent
Meat is considered as a status symbol and a sign of prosperity. Who can afford, daily sets it on the table. However, the best source of protein has a disastrous impact for the environment. Cars, factories and aircraft are not the only culprits for global warming - one of the perpetrators are in fact almost daily on our plate: meat! On the international 'Green Week' which was held in Berlin from 16 to 25 January to meet producers from all over the world to present their agricultural products. Marianne Thieme from the 'Party for Animals' in The Hague in his film to emphasize the detrimental role of meat. She made a film called 'Meat the Truth', which was conceived as a sequel to 'An Inconvenient Truth' by Al Gore. 'Intensive breeding of livestock leads to much greater production of greenhouse gases than all the planes and cars together. Vegetarian who drives a luxury car is less environmentally friendly than someone who eats meat and drives a Toyota Prius, says Marianne Thieme. It is in fact rely on the numbers and the Organization for Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
Cow as a car
The entire transport sector - airplanes, cars, trains - according to FAO produces 14 percent of emissions that affect the creation of the greenhouse effect. Production of meat on the other side 'to blame' for as much as 18 percent of emissions. This one comes in second place, immediately after the coal fired power station. The reason is that due to production of meat they cut large forested areas, primarily in Brazil. Production of one kilogram of beef results in Brazil with nearly 60 pounds of carbon dioxide. But there is another factor, Thieme says, 'Excuse me being so direct, but with every release of gas or belching out methane from cows, and this is another harmful gas. " Transform the methane into carbon dioxide, then every cow in the year through their digestion produces CO2, which corresponds to the amount by half past four cars of the middle class. For Marianne Thieme is a logical answer: we must eat less meat. The Netherlands Minister of Agriculture Gerda Verburg wont even to hear. In her opinion, Thieme exaggeration, because the difference would not be found even if they stopped eating meat. Production of substitutes for meat and cheese also lead to the creation o f greenhouse gases, said Verburg. However, Thieme believes: 'Of course that does not mean that the meat is replaced by a different animal proteins. We generally eat less animal protein. "
Fasting for nature
'If in a week we throw a meat for one day, our government would be without much hesitation, to exercise their environmental objectives. " Party for Animals is the first such political party in the world that entered the national parliament. During the last parliamentary elections 2006th Party of the 150 seats in parliament won two. In the meantime, the party is represented with a place in the Senate. However, it is still 'small', so for her the other parties in parliament do not see a great future. The film 'Meat the truth' is currently on a world tour in America. In many other countries in the world have also established the Party for Animals, for example in Austria, Britain, Italy and Brazil.
Facts
Cloned
Apart from problems with the environment, a great deal of discussion takes about cloned animals. Meat of these animals can be risky for the health of consumers - so he decided the European Office for Food Safety.
Carefree U.S.
Americans are convinced that no cloned meat or milk from cloned cows is not a risk to human health. U.S. Office for the control of food allowed the sale in early 2008. year.

Expanding The Circle
subota, 18. rujna 2010.Historically, man has expanded the boundaries of their ethical scope, as they decrease the ignorance and the need, initially over the family and tribe, later beyond religion, race and nation.
The broader inclusion of animal species in the same framework of ethics, according to the present, normal, way of thinking may seem unthinkable. But one day, maybe after ten or maybe after a hundred years, it will be seen as common standards and requirements of the 'civilized' behavior.
(What Humans Owe to Animals, The Economist, 19/08/1995)
The rights of human goodness, in all its purity and freedom, can come to the fore only when the one who receives it is helpless.
The real moral test of humanity, its fundamental test (which is hidden away from view), consists of attitude towards those that are fully in its mercy: animals.
In this respect mankind has suffered a fundamental defeat, a defeat that is so fundamental that all others stem from defeating him.
(Milan Kundera, The Unbearable Lightness of Being, 1984.)
People - who enslave, castrate, experiment on them and turn the fillets to animals - were understandable affinity for pretending that animals do not feel pain. Clear distinction between humans and the 'animal' is essentially important if you intend to submit to his will, make them work for us, wear them, eat them - without any indication of guilt and regret.
It is shameless of us who often behave so insensitive to animals, argued that only humans can suffer. Animal behavior proves that such claims are misleading. Animals are simply to similar to us.

The European Parliament has defined the terms vegetarian and vegan
Although vegetarianism exists thousands of years and means not eating meat from animals, this term is recently used for themselves and people who eat certain types of meat. It has become conventional wisdom that those who eat only meat and fish so. seafood called pescetarians. Those who eat all kinds of meat except so called red meat are called semivegetarians. There were new fictitious group, so called flexitarians generally do not eat meat, but when they are in society or to visit relatives adjust your diet and eat it, so called new vegetarians are omnivores, which in turn, with meat, like to eat plenty of vegetables and fruits.
Since most of under-educated people is still looking to vegetarianism as an alternative, an unequal and less valuable form of nutrition in relation to the usual diet in Western societies, it is unclear why people who eat meat want to force to call themselves vegetarians. However, regardless of the fashionable trends, it is important to clarify the concept of vegetarianism in order to properly and consistently used in daily use. So many vegetarians will no longer be deprived of vegetarian food in restaurants and other public places, where often the vegetarian menu are fish and other marine animals, as well as chicken, turkey, etc. Also, clear clarification of the concept of vegetarianism, which protects consumers which, because of their own choice or specific health problems (allergies, intolerance to certain ingredients in food, etc.) want to buy vegetarian products.
Deceptive terms such as semivegetarians, pescetarians, flexitarians etc. hindering the proper understanding of vegetarianism as a diet that excludes the consumption of any kind of meat from animals. For comparison, those who smoke only a few types of cigarettes could be the same logic to called semi smokers, which would be absurd. Equally, and with vegetarianism.
Therefore, in order to be abolished misconceptions about the content of vegetarian diets, the European Parliament's had in 16th June 2010. passed an amendment that gives the legal definition and protection of the term 'vegetarian' and 'vegan'. This amendment excludes from the use of expressions like semi vegetarianism and guarantees that the products that are declared as 'vegetarian' does not include products from any animal, nor of fish, and those with the declaration 'vegan' or any foods of animal origin such as milk, eggs and honey.
The amendment will concepts like semi vegetarianism and flexitarianism exclude from use, it will bring order in the labeling of products and understanding of vegetarian diets. It is expected that, in accordance with this amendment, all of which use the division of vegetarian food from caterers, publisher of the recipes, nutritionists, manufacturers and others comply with the defined terms 'vegetarian' and 'vegan'.
So, vegetarians do not eat any kind of animal meat, including fish and other aquatic animals. Within vegetarianism ovo lacto vegetarians eat eggs and dairy products, while lacto vegetarians eat dairy products, and do not eat eggs. Vegans, often referred to as virtual or pure vegetarians, do not eat meat, milk, eggs, honey, and therefore, any food of animal origin.

The animals exploited for food
The word vegetarian comes from the Latin word vegetus, meaning healthy, fresh and full of life, or homo vegetus, which means - physically and mentally healthy person. The original meaning of the word indicates a balanced philosophical sense of life, not just a diet consisting of fruits and vegetables.
Did you know that vegetarianism is spreading like fire throughout the planet? Millions of people today are vegetarians, and each week they join several thousand other people.
People become vegetarian on ethical grounds, because they believe that animals have a right to their own lives and that it is wrong to kill them, torture and exploit for human needs. In addition to unnecessary genocide of animals for breeding animals consume food that could feed hungry people, destroying fertile land, burning forests, poison the water and air, and many are aware of the ecological reasons and do not eat animals because they believe that vegetarian diet is crucial for saving the planet, according to the industry of meat, milk and eggs to destroy the Earth tremendous speed. Also, people think on their own health. It is known that a cocktail of toxins found in animal meat destroys human health, and to extend the life of Vegetarianism and protects our health.
Therefore, vegetarians do not eat animals, meat and fish, but many do not even eat eggs, while vegetarians or vegans do not eat milk and all foods of animal origin.
Think of the animals, the planet, forests, water, air, earth, the hungry children and your health!

Codex of vegan ethics
srijeda, 8. rujna 2010.The vegan ethics codex that was developed by Stanley M. Saponi, was first published in The Vegan Sourcebook mentioning basic principles of vegan lifestyle, followed by some examples of how vegans apply these principles in everyday life:
* Vegans are sensitive to instances of suffering, therefore vegans reject actions that cause emotional pain to mobile living beings, whether animals or humans, either intentionally or unconsciously.
* Vegans value unity of all life forms, therefore, vegans try to avoid conscious destruction of vegetation and the exploitation of natural environment in a way that endangers the local and global ecosystems.
* Vegans condemn the violence, therefore, vegans try to solve the physical and social challenges in thoughtful, kind, compassionate, considerate and fair manner.
* Vegans are spreading general principles of solidarity, therefore, vegans strive to active welfare, taking part in humanitarian actions and acts of mercy.
There are several ways in which vegans have shown their commitment to this code of ethics: they are choosing only plant foods, denying their economic and moral support to companies that are exploiting or abusing animals or humans, choosing materials and products that do not destroy and do not disrupt the emotional lives of beings; actively reject use of living things as tools or materials for education, research, entertainment or other utilitarian purposes, trying to resolve the conflict by means of understanding, respect and non-violent methods. Their approaches to veganism vary just like vegans themselfs. There is no best way to become a vegan. It all depends on your level of commitment and motivation, as well on which manner is most comfortable to you. For many people, once they discover the reality behind their diet and become more aware of the widespread use of animal products in other areas of everyday life, is not left no choice but to make a quick and total change to veganism. Other people prefer a slower change that allows them to try the water before they jump into it.

Meaning of the vegan lifestyle
When a heart is trembling, stir the passions, so it is no surprise that many new vegans enters into such a lifestyle with a vengeance in mind. What healthy, compassionate, conscious person would not express his anger because of ruthless deception and the frequent injustices that serve as fuel of the modern economy? However, immersed in the ecstasy, many new vegans forget the real goal of veganism. It can lead to obsession if you forget the fact that compassion, not perfection, a sense of vegan living. Our world is not ideal. Therefore, working on trying to achieve the impossible is exhausting and can lead to despair or abandonment of vegan lifestyle.
Like a Crusade, extermination and the smallest remnants of animal products from our life is meaningless, because in modern society it is simply not feasible. Parts of animal bodies, waste or by-products exist in virtually all things. If the attention of vegans is focused on the removal of the smallest animal components from all public and private affairs, it will leave them neither the time nor the strength to focus on education and other activities that could be much more productive.
If it is not possible to completely cleanse our lives from animal products, whether it makes sense, then clean it only partially? Does veganism even make sense?
Vegans are the pioneers in realizing the revolutionary view of life, views that the world is still not ready to accept. In all successful social movements, progressive ideas are always met with resistance. Denial and opposition is expected, maybe even invoke, because they are necessary preconditions for a change. Success can not always measure the achievement of the ultimate goal, really experience very few activists achieve their goals. Formulate concepts and strategies are launching the genesis of cultural change and an indispensable part of starting a permanent transformation, although the rewards, at least on the surface, sometimes seem insignificant.

Ethics of Compassion
It can lead to obsession if you forget the fact that compassion, not perfection, a sense of vegan living. Our world is not ideal. Therefore, work on trying to achieve the impossible is exhausting and can lead to despair or abandonment vegan lifestyle
Veganism means awakening, awareness and out of the fog that protects most people from suffering and death - the horror that continues forever just out of habit, for pleasure and profit. Many vegans also excites the process and discouraged. Vegans notice the wonders and beauty of the living world, its flexibility, resilience, and splendor, and watch it again with the eyes of a child.
At the same time waking up is painful. Consciousness is not restricted to the attractive side of life, it also reveals repulsive and disgusting sides. However, watching with wide-open eyes gives clearer view of the essence of life and promote a deep and meaningful internal growth. People who are protected from the crude reality never fully develop its gentle and sympathetic nature. Until the sharp edges cut through the anxiety of surface shell of the heart, compassion will remain alien concept.

Vegan attitude: approach based on the results
Characterization of veganism as just avoiding the list of ingredients is not the best way to achieve results. Therefore veganism will work on stopping cruelty to animals.
Working to stop cruelty to animals is a clear motivation that others can easily understand. This practical oriented approach to the finish line, shows how veganism is a progressive way the world are doing better.
Although everyone's views on veganism exclude supporting industrial farms and slaughterhouses, there are many instances when access is based on the results, we can help more animals from the approach based only on the avoidance of products (food and others) associated with the use of animals.
For example, the film (which contains gelatin) for a camera with which many, due to the visual impact of photographs and films that have documented many abusers, so save the animals and help the spread of veganism. Today, analog cameras can be replaced by digital, but we must ask ourselves is spending money on replacing more of the functional items with new best way of opposing cruelty to animals. A similar situation exists with leather and wool items that were purchased before someone decided to be vegan. Can it be that money is better spent creating a source for spreading vegetarianism, such as the printing of literature?

Is the vegan world possible?
Many people agree that the animal farming is cruel and unethical exploitation of animals, but believe that their efforts will never make any noticeable difference, but consider the development of the situation:
Imagine that one of us make the impact of only one person to move to the vegan lifestyle on average every five years and that person also affect one new person every five years. Although the change was imperceptible at first, until the middle of the century a large percentage of the human population would become a vegan and a lot of suffering would be prevented. As more people stop eating animals, it will be more vegan offer for everyone, so others will much easier change their habits. whit that pace should be only a few decades to move all people to the vegan lifestyle.
So we change our way of life, but we must also affect others to stop human exploitation and killing of animals and make this world better for all its residents as soon as we became vegan. and thus better .

The secret of youth is the water in vegetables?
Key of health lies in maintaining strong skin cells that can retain water in the way that it can youth channel. If you can protect and maintain the cell membrane (from brain, heart and the connective tissue and skin cells) supplying them with water and nutrients, can successfully fight against aging and disease.
Most people accept the signs of aging, such as excessive weight, fatigue and illness. But the truth is that 80 percent chance of longevity depends on lifestyle, not genes.
Why the body contains only about 50 percent water? Contrary to common opinion, we do not have 75-80 percent water. Once we were and that was while we still lived in his mother's womb. But now we are closer to the figure of 50 percent. Since those early years, external and internal factors are damaging our cells and weaken their ability to retain water. This explains the signs of aging that began in the early 30's team.
Eat to maintain moisture - it's easy to bring 2.5 liters of water a day without having to drink large amounts. Almost all food contains water and, no natural whole foods have the most. Colorful fruits and vegetables contain lots of water with nutrients is the best form of water for us because it remains in the body long enough to be used.
Eat raw - cooking vegetables destroys the membranes of cells and allows the water to drain from them. This is why vegetables weighs less after cooking, and why it is recommended a lot of raw fruits.
What is the secret of water? When our cells are not fully hydrated, decaying and can not function normally. This leads to tissue damage that we call aging. As we age, we lose water naturally. Because of this loss to us all the more difficult to recover it, to fight bacteria and pathogens and to maintain hormonal balance. But there is a trick. It is not enough to just drink water to keep your skin recover.
Many people believe that drinking eight to ten glasses of water a solution for proper moisturizing. However, it is not just about drinking, but about bringing liquids in the cells and connective tissue to each cell to function at full capacity. If you want more of the cell membrane, to stimulate the regeneration of connective tissues and maintain a stable immune system have the authority to bring the necessary nutrients.
Amount of water in food:
* Watermelon, cucumber 97 percent
* 95 percent of tomatoes
* 92 percent of eggplant
* 88 percent of carrot
* Peach 87 percent
* Wholemeal bread 33 percent

Vegetarians live healthier and longer
subota, 4. rujna 2010.In a time of overdosed poultry and other cattle or pig diseases, vegetarianism is becoming more then a trend, and even biggest meat advocates are seriously considering capitulation.
From day to day there is more of those who become vegetarians as once were Pythagoras, Socrates, Leonardo de Vinci, Newton, Einstein and Voltaire, and today are Sting, Paul Mc Cartney, Martina Navratilova, Dennis Rodman, Bob Dylan and Pink.
Of course, in favor of vegetarianism is not speaking only of modern diseases of livestock and poultry, but numerous studies for decades clearly shows that those who give up meat live healthier and longer, they are more active and more satisfied than other people.
Among other things it has been proven that vegetarians rarely suffer from malignant diseases and diseases of the heart and circulation, and for example, diabetes, allergies and diseases of the prostate and digestive organs. Studies have shown that they indisputably have lower blood pressure and lower cholesterol levels, but also less weight, and which is especially important that, for example, when ill cancer have a much better chance of recovery compared to those from your diet is not kicked the meat .
Of course, besides food, the fact that vegetarians are healthier and live longer contributes their lifestyle. There is in fact almost a rule that they do not smoke, do not drink alcohol and coffee, and are much more moving, recreate and relax than others.

Vegetarians are more environmentally friendly than people who eat meat, a massive switch to vegetarianism could improve life on Earth. These provocative thesis wrote an American writer Jonathan Safran Foer in the book "Eating Animals."
Foer is a casual vegetarian. He claims that people have started to eat meat in excessive amounts. The book appeals to the responsibility towards nature and draws attention to the negative side of human 'addiction' to meat - describing the disastrous conditions of keeping animals slaughtered at the bar and the consequences of the consumption of meat on the environment.
>> Vegetarian food is the key to long life
"We buy meat that comes from intensive farming - 99.9% of chickens, pigs 95% and 78% of livestock is growing in unnatural conditions, and farming contributes more to global warming than all the cars of the world," said Foer, who says that the average American nutrition has slaughtered about 21,000 animals.
An example of the famous actress Natalie Portman, shows that the author is very convincing in his argument, he said that she changed her eating habits after reading "Eating Animals."
